Announcing a New Latino Organization Serving in Washington State

Seattle, WA. 8.02.2024 – The Latino Civic Alliance (LCA), a 501(c)(3) organization, proudly introduces its new sister organization, LCA VOTES, a 501(c)(4) dedicated to empowering the Latino community in Washington State. As the 2024 election approaches, LCA VOTES 501(c)(4) is focused on endorsing candidates who actively engage, and acknowledge their significant economic contributions, and support policies that positively impact Latino communities.

LCA VOTES aims to empower the Latino community through civic engagement and education, ensuring that Latino voices and votes are heard and represented at all levels of government.
Objectives:
  1. Civic Education: Provide resources and educational programs to help Latinos understand key policy issues, the electoral process, and the importance of their participation in civic life.
  2. Voter Registration and Participation: Increase voter registration among Latinos and encourage active participation in elections, focusing on engaging new voters and making the voting process accessible.
  3. Advocacy and Representation: Advocate for policies that benefit the Latino community and work to ensure that Latino concerns are represented in governmental decision-making processes.
  4. Community Engagement: Build a strong network of community partners and volunteers to support civic initiatives and amplify the impact of Latino voices in the public sphere.
  5. Youth Engagement: Focus on engaging young Latinos to vote, providing them with the tools and knowledge to become informed and active participants.
Political Priorities of LCA VOTES
  • Access to Capital for Small Businesses: Advocating for low-interest loans for certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) and Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) to foster growth.
  • Workforce Development and Business Support: Promoting careers with good wages, benefits, and apprenticeships to strengthen the workforce and support business owners.
  • Behavioral Health and Addiction: Enhancing access to behavioral health services for all ages, ensuring care is accessible and effective.
  • Gun Violence Prevention: Treating gun violence as a public health issue and advocating for policies to protect communities.
  • Affordable Housing and Commercial Spaces: Ensuring access to affordable housing and commercial spaces for working-class families and small businesses.
